We are in a water crisis. Nearly half of the water used by Colorado households goes to watering lawns. Lawns don't make sense, and addressing this is not a trend for us, for 13 years we have removed lawns and installed xeriscapes and Permaculture-inspired landcapes, including converting sprinklers to drip irrigation. We remove traditional Bluegrass lawns and install low-water landscapes utilizing drought-tolerant plants that belong in our landscapes that are pollinator-friendly, provide shade and crucial wildlife habitat, help regenerate poor soil, and that can produce gorgeous year-round interest. We can also install turf that uses 70% less H2O.
We believe sensible land managment is key to improving our ecological niche.
