Colorado Ecoscapes and Urban Gardens offers sustainability-focused landscaping, urban garden installation, and outdoor design solutions with a focus on edible landscaping, hardscaping, xeriscapes with Colorado-native plants, Front-Range Permaculture design, and drip irrigation. We responsibly source local materials and execute expert design and craftsmanship on each project. Currently our focus is installing as many high-quality raised beds, each built in our woodshop using expert craftsmanship and all-natural non-treated lumber (including optional drip irrigation) for decades-long food production.
Around half of the water consumed on the front range is for landscaping purposes--namely lawns. We want to help change that. As our climate and weather patterns change, using rain diversion, catchment, rain gardens, Permaculture design, and other water harvesting techniques will be an essential part of our evolution as sensible denizens of this unique ecosystem. Our survival depends on it. Our definition of an 'Ecoscape' is an ecologically-regenerative landscape that requires as few artificial inputs as possible. Rather than flushing water off of our landscapes and onto impervious surfaces that encourage evaporation and soil erosion, let's keep it here... And eat here... You'll not only be providing a nourishing landscape for you and your family, it will spark a conversation with your neighbors, co-workers, and friends.
New legislation in Colorado allows homeowners the ability to harvest and store rainwater; if you've been wondering how to use rain cachment or water diversion to reduce or eliminate the need for irrigation in your landscape, we are here to guide you through many site-specific options.
Colorado Ecoscapes and Urban Gardens will help make landscaping your space an exciting part of using nature's patterns to inspire outdoor spaces that are unique, aesthetically one-of-a-kind, and water smart. Contact us for a free estimate; this is our passion!

After years of frustration tilling my in-ground vegetable garden, we decided to look into using raised beds. After a great deal of comparison shopping, we choose to work with Colorado Ecoscapes due to Stephen's expert knowledge, attention to detail and enthusiasm for organic and sustainable gardening. Overall, they provide a rare combination of landscaping design, carpentry, irrigation and drainage, and planting expertise, at a competitive price. I've worked with various landscapers over the years, and none have been as diligent as Colorado Ecoscapes. Knowledge and hard work at a competitive price is a true value. --Michael, Denver, Harkness Heights My dreams of building an urban garden and low maintenance yard had left things mostly just a mess of weeds and dirt. We called Stephen and he helped us figure out how to bring things back in line. He kept in good contact along the way and was open to making modifications to suit our plans as needed. We are very happy with the raised beds, drip irrigation, and flagstone pathway Colorado Ecoscapes' installed. --Josh K., Curtis Park |
